Project Update - 10th March

Trials are well under way to thoroughly test BCB’s integrated bar code system – in the pictures below you can clearly see the first trial load (empty containers) neatly stacked in the bunded bay and the associated label output produced by the bar code database.

Project Update - 22nd February

Preparation of Chemical Resistant floor and bunded bays - The original concrete is meticulously prepared and cleaned prior to the laying over the top of brand new, chemically resistant floor. The picture clearly illustrated the development of the bunded bay areas for waste control & segregation.

Project Update 11th February

Progress is continuing at a rapid rate to keep the Opening date of the new facility on track for April. Below is a selection of recent photographs which clearly illustrate the completion of the bunded perimeter and if you look closely you can even catch a glimpse of the mysterious BCB Webmaster Jase taking a first hand look at the site.

Project Update 3 - 17th December 2004

Construction has now commenced within the hangar on the integrated negative pressure, controlled emissions zone. This purpose built chamber will eventually house some of the most innovative extraction technology available to ensure an environment which can guarantee 'zero emissions' to atmosphere.

Project Update 2 - 6th December 2004

New Plant Equipment Arrives We have just taken receipt of our new industrial shredding machinery. 'The Shredder' (as it will be known!) is a strategic move towards increasing the handling capacity of the transfer station to cope with the expected levels of growth within the company, and the increased demand for service.

Transfer Station Manager, Trevor Piercy, commented: "The Shredder is not just any piece of kit - it is a state of the art industrial workhorse which should alleviate some of the pressure placed upon manpower, thus enabling us to increase capacity and output without the necessity of further staffing resource and without compromising safety issues."

Project Update 2 - 6th December 2004

Although preparations for our impending move to the new bespoke transfer station have been ongoing for the last twelve months, since planning permission was officially granted on 26 October, the project has now gone into fast forward mode. The target deadline for the move has been set at 1st February 2005 and as you can see from the pictures below, significant progress has already been made.

The purpose-built laboratory has been specified in close consultation with our Senior Chemists & technicians, as well as industry specialists, and clearly illustrates BCB's focus on setting the benchmark for new standards of technical expertise.

The above picture shows the operations office on the 1st floor, and the 'Crow's Nest' viewing gallery above. From the gallery, customers will benefit from the optimum view of operations during Duty of Care audit visits - just one of many innovations designed to push the boundaries of customer service to new levels.
