New Face at Tockwith

December 2003

With our continued organic growth, the Operations Team at our Transfer Station in Tockwith has just seen the development of a new strategic management position. We are therefore very pleased to announce the appointment of Graeme Tolmie in the position of Operational Support Manager.

Graeme has several years professional experience in the hazardous waste industry and his expertise will further strengthen the BCB Operations Team. Graeme will be tasked with the management of all on-site operational support functions as well as putting his Dangerous Goods knowledge & expertise into practice in the New Year - as appointed company DGSA.

'I am really looking forward to the prospect of a dynamic and challenging role within one of the fastest growing and most successful companies in the Special Waste industry" said Graeme upon news of his successful appointment.

In the New Year, the whole management team will be gearing up towards implementation of new systems and working practices in preparation for BCB's forthcoming move into a new, bespoke transfer station. We all wish Graeme every success in his role as an integral part of this demanding expansion programme.

Sales Team Gets Bigger!

BCB' s challenging expansion agenda has necessitated an injection of additional human resource into the Sales Team. We welcome on board Frank Samet , Dip.CIWM MCIWM, as Sales Manager for the Midlands & Central regions and Linda Smith as Customer Services Manager, co-ordinating internal sales support.

Frank Samet heralds from a professional sales background and has worked for a number of years within the waste industry. He is looking forward to a successful working relationship with BCB and will be concentrating on developing the customer base for his region as well as managing existing BCB accounts.

As Customer Services Manager, Linda will be drawing on her professional experience in customer support. She will be responsible for co-ordinating customer accounts and ensuring BCB's standards, as set out in our 'Customer Service Charter', are consistently maintained.

New Company Mission Statement & Customer Service Charter Launched

In order to clearly illustrate the emphasis & importance BCB place on environmental standards & customer service we are pleased to inform you of the launch of our 'Mission Statement'. The statement consolidates the company's approach to environmental improvement, most notably a drive towards completion of ISO14001 by summer 2004 (see earlier press release).

BCB has always prided itself on the excellent standards of customer service it both strives for, and achieves. This commitment to excellence in service is highlighted in the Mission statement.

In support of this approach our 'Customer Service Charter' has been introduced to clearly define the level of service our customers can expect to receive from us. The charter covers speed of response to enquiries etc, complaints and maintenance of service indicators.

We Have Completed Our Move to New Premises.

1st August 2003

BCB are pleased to announce the relocation of their Head Office to purposely refurbished, modernised and private premises on Liverpool Road in Eccles, Manchester. The move heralds the first step towards completion of the company's dynamic expansion project which will consolidate BCB's position at the forefront of hazardous waste disposal.

The Head Office is the administrative nerve centre for BCB's Operations - the new premises will employ cutting edge information technology to ensure sustained operational support and to help maintain our excellent standards of customer service.

ISO 14001

1st July 2003

BCB have formally committed to achieving ISO14001 standard by Summer 2004. A core team of staff has been appointed to implement a fully integrated Environmental Management System with the full support of the Environmental Services Team at Chamber Business Enterprise, Manchester.

During the coming months BCB will embark on a number of improvement programmes to drive successful achievement of environmental objectives and targets. We will keep you posted with our progress on this news page!

BCB's Waste Transfer Station, at Leading Solvent Supplies, was subject to a full Environment Agency Inspection Audit on 24th February 2003. The report concluded.

" The audit proved to be a very useful exercise and has helped the Agency's understanding of the operations and processes that are carried out on site. All the staff on site had a good understanding of the requirements of the waste management license. Well thought out and effective emergency procedures have been adopted on site. The operator provides extensive staff training and has comprehensive records for each member of staff."

New Vehicle joins fleet

December 2002

Delivered in December 2002 and with a capacity of up to 14,000 litres, our new kilowhale Tanker is the latest addition to the ever expanding BCB Fleet. This vehicle will complement our current service, enabling us to offer increased versatility and capacity
